GLOW-UP: Luxe loos land at Junee cemetery

TWO brand new, modern unisex disabled-access toilets have been installed at the Junee Lawn Cemetery — and they look fantastic!
Bright, clean and thoughtfully designed, the new facilities are a glamorous upgrade, featuring accessible fittings, and spacious interiors with a marble-look finish.
They’re not quite ready yet — roofing and stainless steel cladding are still to come — but they already represent a big step forward for public amenities in the area.

Council’s Director of Engineering Services, Stephen Targett, said the new toilets are a meaningful improvement for the community.
“Junee Shire Council has commenced the replacement of the toilets at the Junee Lawn Cemetery,” he said.
“The work includes the installation of two new disabled toilets and will result in a significant improvement for the community.”

The project is fully funded through Council’s capital works budget and is expected to be completed by June.
It’s one of several upgrades planned or already underway to enhance the cemetery grounds, alongside a new portable shelter and upgraded irrigation.
Despite more than half the shire being in drought, the cemetery’s lawns remain impressively lush and well-maintained, with the exception of the newest rows of graves, which are still establishing.
