Driver killed in horror crash with tractor

A MAN has been killed in a horror multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor near Temora.
Police said a Toyota Kluger collided with a tractor at the intersection of Goldfields Way and Reinholds Lane — about five kilometres south of Temora — just before 3.30pm on Thursday, June 19.
The driver of the SUV — a 40-year-old man — sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash.
Tragically, he could not be saved and died at the scene, despite the efforts of paramedics.

The 28-year-old man driving the tractor was not injured but was taken to Temora Hospital for mandatory testing.
The incident triggered a large emergency response, with multiple ambulances and a rescue helicopter dispatched to the scene.
Officers from the Riverina Police District established a crime scene, with specialist crash investigators called in to examine the site.
Traffic was disrupted for several hours, with vehicles allowed to pass the crash site one direction at a time.
Goldfields Way is a key transport route in the Riverina, connecting Junee, Temora and West Wyalong, and is frequently used by local traffic, freight and farm machinery.
It’s the second fatal crash between Junee and Temora in less than two weeks.
A young man in his 20s was killed on Saturday, June 7, when the car he was driving left the road and struck a tree on Coolamon Road at Sebastopol — about 20km south of Temora.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed Thursday’s crash — or who was travelling in the area and has dashcam or mobile phone footage — to contact Cootamundra Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
