Driver charged after cops find 11kg of cannabis in tyres

A MAN has been charged after police allegedly found close to a dozen kilograms of the cannabis stashed in his spare tyres during a vehicle stop in the Riverina.
Riverina Traffic and Highway Patrol officers intercepted the man’s vehicle on the Hume Highway at South Gundagai due to its “manner of driving” around 4:30pm on Monday.
During a search, police allegedly discovered over 11 kilograms of cannabis concealed within the spare tyres in the car’s boot.
The 26-year-old driver was arrested and taken to Gundagai Police Station, where he was formally charged with drug supply.
He was granted conditional bail and is set to appear in Gundagai Local Court next month.
