THE next chapter of one of Junee’s oldest buildings is about to begin — and it’s set to be bursting with flavour!

Nearly a year after The Loftus was listed for lease, owner Annette Pollard has confirmed the local landmark will soon reopen under new management as an Asian fusion restaurant, blending Thai and Chinese cuisines.

Taking to Facebook to make the announcement on Monday, July 28, Annette shared her excitement with the community.

“I am so excited! The Loftus will be open again soon!,” Annette Pollard, Owner

Responding to a flurry of comments, she revealed the new restaurant will operate Tuesday to Sunday, serving up both lunch and dinner.

While the new operators have not yet been publicly named, anticipation is already simmering.

Annette confirmed they currently run two other Chinese restaurants and also specialise in Thai cuisine — making the upcoming Loftus venture a true fusion of flavours.

The news marks a fresh chapter for The Loftus, which was lovingly restored by the Pollards and revived as a premier function and events venue.

In 2024, the couple made the “bittersweet” decision to lease the property as they transitioned into semi-retirement and travel.

Their goal: to find the right person or people with the passion and vision to carry forward the legacy of the heritage-listed building — and now, that vision is about to unfold.

Built circa 1896, The Loftus features a fully licensed bar and restaurant space, commercial kitchen, café frontage, a leafy courtyard, and all the charm of its Victorian-era architecture.

With new energy and bold flavours on the way, the reopening of The Loftus marks not just a revival of a local icon — but a fresh addition to Junee’s hospitality scene.

Stay tuned for more!
