Woman killed after being struck by vehicle outside Coolamon business

AN ELDERLY woman has tragically died after being struck by a vehicle outside a rural supplies business in Coolamon this morning.

Emergency services were called to Cowabbie Street shortly before 10am on Tuesday, October 14, following reports an 83-year-old woman had been run over in the driveway of the local Rural Supplies service station.

NSW Ambulance paramedics performed CPR on the woman however, despite their best efforts, she could not be revived and died at the scene.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, an 84-year-old man, was treated for shock and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from the Riverina Police District attended the scene and commenced investigations, with assistance from the Crash Investigation Unit.

The business has advised customers it will remain closed until further notice.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
