Junee runners lace up for breast cancer fundraiser
THE power of community was on full display in Junee on Sunday morning, as nearly 50 locals laced up their runners and turned out in force to support the Breast Cancer Network Australia.
Kicking off at the Junee Adventure Park, the Actively Pink fundraiser was hosted by Junee Run Club in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and brought with it a heartfelt message of hope, solidarity, and local spirit.
By the end of the morning, more than $2,000 had been raised — a powerful contribution to support Australians affected by breast cancer.
Organisers Jacqueline Timms and Taylah Hackett said they were “blown away” by the turnout and overwhelmed by the generosity shown throughout the event.
“We are beyond grateful for everyone who showed up in support,” they said in a joint statement.
“Your kindness and generosity made the event truly special.”
Participants were encouraged to run, walk or ride, pledging $5 for every kilometre they completed.
Donations came in both on the day and online, with a number of generous prizes also donated to help boost the cause.

Local label Twenty Six Clothing gifted two pink caps, while the Henderson family contributed two $50 Rebel Sport gift cards.
Popular athleisure brand LSKD added to the mix with a $50 voucher, and MPF Engineering made a major $1,000 donation and supplied a handcrafted fire bucket, helping the fundraising tally climb even higher.
To keep participants hydrated and replenished, hydration support was provided by HYDREAU, supplied courtesy of the team at Hydreau.
The event marks the latest chapter in Junee Run Club’s growing impact on the local community, with organisers keen to continue blending fitness with fundraising well into the future.
“We can’t wait to see everyone back at Junee Run Club soon,” the organisers said.
Donations remain open for the rest of October through the club’s dedicated fundraising page, and locals are being encouraged to chip in — no matter how big or small.
