Four injured in high-speed rollover on Riverina road

FOUR men have been injured, two of them seriously, following a horror high-speed rollover on a rural road east of Wagga.

The crash occurred on Oura Road near Vailima Road, about 10km east of Oura, shortly after midday on Friday, December 12.

Emergency services were called after a vehicle carrying four men, all believed to be in their 20s, left the roadway while travelling at the 100km/h speed limit.

The vehicle reportedly rolled multiple times before coming to rest on its side.

An ambulance rescue helicopter was dispatched to the scene, with its specialist medical crew assisting NSW Ambulance paramedics in treating the injured men.

All four occupants were transported by road ambulance to Wagga Base Hospital in varying conditions.

Two of the men are believed to have suffered serious head injuries. A doctor from the helicopter accompanied one patient in an ambulance to hospital.

The remaining two men are understood to have sustained only minor injuries.

The crash triggered a significant emergency response, with multiple agencies attending the scene.

Oura Road was closed in both directions for a period while crews worked to treat patients and clear the scene.
