Man on assault charge over alleged ‘domestic incident’

A MAN has been charged following an alleged domestic violence-related assault at a home in Junee early Wednesday morning.

Police say officers were called to reports of a “domestic incident” at an address in Regent Street shortly after 4am on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

Officers from the Riverina Police District attended and were told a 34-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted by a man known to her.

Police say the woman was not injured.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Junee Police Station, where he was charged with common assault.

He was issued a future court attendance notice to appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday, May 13.
