Police probe theft of 140 lambs in Junee Shire
DETECTIVES are investigating the theft of 140 lambs from a rural property at Harefield, south of the Junee township.
Officers attached to the Riverina Police District Rural Crime Prevention Team say the second cross lambs were stolen sometime between Sunday, November 16 and Monday, November 17, 2025.
Investigators believe the animals were accessed through a gate on Aerodrome Lane at Harefield.
The lambs had been shorn about three weeks before the theft and were fitted with electronic National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) tags, which police hope may assist with inquiries.
As investigations continue, rural crime detectives have issued a public plea for anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area, or who may have information about the stolen stock, to come forward.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Rural Crime Investigators at Cootamundra Police Station on 6942 0099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
