Man charged by child abuse detectives after DV incident

A MAN has been arrested and charged by child abuse detectives in the Riverina, after allegedly leaving a victim with serious injuries following a domestic violence-related incident.

Police said on Wednesday, April 8, that the 22-year-old was arrested by detectives from the NSW State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad about 2.30pm on Tuesday, March 17.

The statewide squad investigates serious physical abuse, sexual abuse and extreme neglect of children under 16, as well as specific cases involving young people aged 16 to 18.

The man was taken to Temora Police Station and charged with two counts of reckless grievous bodily harm (DV).

No further details relating to the alleged offences have been released.

He was refused bail and appeared in Wagga Local Court the following day.

The arrest marked the 122nd by the NSW Child Abuse Squad so far in 2026.
