Strike Force Raids: Six arrested as cops swoop in Wagga

SIX people have been charged with more than 50 drug and property offences after a series of coordinated strike force raids across Wagga.
Officers from the Southern Region Enforcement Squad swooped on multiple homes early Thursday morning, October 9, executing search warrants at six properties in Ashmont, Lake Albert, Glenfield Park, and North Wagga.
They were supported by the Southern Operation Support group, Riverina Police District and the NSW Dog unit.

During the operation, police seized a cocktail of drugs, including methylamphetamine, cannabis, and GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyric acid), a drug often linked to sexual assault cases.
Several suspected stolen items were also recovered, including mountain bikes and a motorbike.

In total, six people were arrested and charged with a combined 51 offences.
Police allegedly seized 1.2 litres of GHB, methylamphetamine, and stolen property from a house at Glenfield Park.

A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged with supplying a prohibited drug in a commercial quantity, driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent, and engaging in a police pursuit.
He was refused bail to appear before Wagga Local Court on Wednesday, October 15.

Elsewhere, a 29-year-old woman was arrested in Ashmont after officers allegedly found methylamphetamine, cannabis, and a taser at her home.
Two mountain bikes believed to be stolen were also recovered.

The woman was charged with three counts of possessing a prohibited drug, two counts of possessing or using a prohibited weapon, and one count of failing to comply with a digital evidence access order direction.
She too remains in custody, refused bail to appear in Wagga Local Court on October 15.

In a separate raid at Ashmont, a 31-year-old woman was also taken into custody after police allegedly uncovered a cache of cash, drugs, and stolen goods at her home.
Officers seized quantities of methylamphetamine, cannabis, and GHB, along with two tasers, more than $4000 in cash, and a Honda motorbike believed to be stolen.

The woman was charged with 15 offences, including two counts of supplying a prohibited drug in a commercial quantity, three counts of ongoing drug supply, and multiple weapons offences.
She was also charged with dealing with the proceeds of crime and having suspected stolen goods in her possession.
The 31-year-old woman appeared in Wagga Local Court on Friday, where she was refused bail to reappear on December 10.

Police said the operation formed part of Strike Forces Durdin and Coyote, established in July and August respectively, to target the supply of prohibited drugs and property crime in the Wagga area.
Investigations are ongoing.
