All roads lead to Junee for 21st Annual Poker Run & Blues Night
JUNEE is revving up for a huge weekend, with hundreds of riders and spectators set to descend on the town for the 21st annual Junee Poker Run & Blues Night this Saturday, February 7.
The beloved grassroots fundraiser is once again expected to draw riders from across the Riverina and beyond for a full day of community spirit, country roads, and classic rock ‘n’ roll.
Founded in 2005, the Poker Run has grown to become one of Junee’s most iconic events — supporting locals affected by cancer through the incredible work of Can Assist Junee.
This year’s ride continues that legacy, with all proceeds from registrations, merchandise, raffles and bar sales going directly to the local Can Assist branch.
The event has raised more than $110,000 for the charity in the last four years alone, including a record-breaking $42,000 following last year’s 20th anniversary celebration.
That support has continued in 2026, with this year’s event shirts proudly featuring the names of 55 sponsors — up from just 28 in 2022 — making it the second-strongest sponsorship year in Poker Run history.

The Ride Rolls On
Riders will begin rolling into the Junee Showgrounds from 7am, where local RFS volunteers will be firing up the BBQ for a hearty breakfast.
Coffee and merchandise will also be available onsite.
The convoy is set to depart in formation at 9.30am, completing its traditional lap of Junee before heading off on a mystery 250-kilometre tour across the Riverina.
This year, the best vantage points to watch the ride roll out of town include Park Lane, Regent Street, Main Street, and around Memorial Park.

Farewelling a President With Pride
This year’s ride will carry added meaning, with former committee president Tony Fitzgerald given the honour of leading the convoy out of Junee — a symbolic thank you for his dedication and leadership.
Tony took the reins from founding president Ron Hindmarsh after the event’s 13th year, steering the committee for the next seven — including the landmark 20th anniversary in 2025 — before retiring last year.
As tradition dictates, the exact Poker Run route remains tightly under wraps until the morning of the ride.
Guided by two support vehicles, riders will stop at several towns along the journey to collect their poker cards before returning to Junee.
The lunch stop, coordinated by Can Assist volunteers with support from RFS members, will offer riders a shaded space to cool down, eat, and recharge before completing the loop.

Blues Night Returns With a Bang
From 5.00pm, the focus shifts back to the Junee Showgrounds for the Blues Night — a crowd favourite in its own right.
This year’s line-up features three powerhouse acts: Australian blues rockers Marshall & The Fro, crowd-favourite Radio Velvet, and Junee’s own Harry Pratt.
Entry to the concert is included for registered riders, with wristbands available at the gate for $15 for everyone else.
A full bar, run by local volunteers, will keep drinks flowing, while Can Assist will be back on deck for dinner service. A kebab truck will also join the food line-up.
Campers are again welcome to stay free of charge at the Showgrounds — a popular option for visitors making a weekend of it.

Weather Outlook
Saturday is expected to start sunny and warm, with maximum temperatures between 36–38°C across the region.
A late afternoon storm is possible as a cooler change moves through.
Organisers are encouraging riders to stay hydrated, ride safely, and ensure their bikes are in good working condition ahead of the journey.
Join the Ride
The Junee Poker Run is open to all riders, with registration taking place at the Junee Showgrounds from 7am Saturday.
Riders from all clubs are welcome, provided they adhere to NSW consorting laws and event terms, including restrictions on displaying colours or insignia.
