Planned power outages to hit parts of Junee Shire

PARTS of Junee are set to experience a series of planned power outages over the coming weeks, with more than 200 customers expected to be affected across the shire as crews undertake essential maintenance works.

Essential Energy has advised that 65 customers in North Junee will be the first impacted on Thursday, June 4.

Power is scheduled to be interrupted for approximately two hours, from 9am to 11am, affecting parts of Prince, Marquis, Regent, Earl, Duke and King streets.

A second, significantly longer outage is planned for Thursday, June 11, impacting 82 customers across parts of Park Lane, John Potts Drive, Broadway, Hay Street, Edgans Street and Junction Street.

The outage will affect several key locations, including the Junee Tourist Park and Junee Showgrounds, with electricity expected to be switched off for around six hours between 9am and 3pm.

A third outage is also scheduled for Sunday, June 14, with a small number of customers along Byrnes Road expected to lose power for up to seven hours from 8.30am while maintenance works continue.

Crews will then move to Old Junee on Wednesday, June 17, where the entire village is expected to be without power for up to seven hours from 8.30am.

Essential Energy has advised the outage will affect 68 customers.

Essential Energy said the planned interruptions are necessary to allow crews to safely carry out maintenance and improve the reliability of the local electricity network.
