MURDER CHARGE: Accused killer arrested in Narrandera

AN alleged gunman wanted over the fatal shooting of a man in Wagga earlier this week has been arrested and charged with murder.
The victim — a 37-year-old man — was gunned down during a violent altercation on Connorton Avenue in Ashmont in the early hours of Monday, June 9.
Emergency services were called to the scene just before 3am and found the man suffering a critical gunshot wound.
Tragically, the man could not be saved and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Strike Force Cervantes was established to investigate the killing and track down the shooter.

Following days of inquiries, detectives arrested a 35-year-old man at a home on Lady Loch Crescent in Narrandera about 9.30am today, Thursday, June 12.
A search warrant was executed at the address, with several items of clothing seized for forensic examination.
The man was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station where he was formally charged with one count of murder.
