Boy stabbed multiple times in violent street brawl

A TEENAGE boy has been stabbed and slashed multiple times during a violent street brawl in Wagga.

Emergency services were called to reports of an assault in Edghill Place at Tolland shortly before 7pm on Sunday, May 24.

A NSW Police spokesperson told The Junee Bulletin officers from the Riverina Police District attended the scene and found a 17-year-old boy suffering lacerations to his arm, head and back.

“Police were told the man was involved in a brawl a short time before on Edghill Place, however the crowd had dispersed before officers arrived,” the spokesperson said.

It is understood up to 20 young people may have been involved in the altercation.

The injured teenager was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Wagga Base Hospital.

Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.
