Cocaine, ice, cash and pistols seized from speeding vehicle
A MAN allegedly caught speeding on the Hume Highway in the Riverina was allegedly found with a cocktail of cocaine, ice, nearly $50,000 in cash and half-a-dozen gel blaster pistols in his vehicle.
Police were patrolling the Hume Highway at Mount Adrah, between Tarcutta and Tumblong, about 2.30pm on Thursday, June 4, when they allegedly detected a vehicle travelling at 145km/h in a 110km/h zone.
Officers attached to Riverina Highway Patrol stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, a 36-year-old man later identified in court as Dong Dong Guo.
A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered 12 grams of cocaine, 1.3 grams of methylamphetamine (ice), approximately $48,000 in cash and six gel blaster pistols.
Guo was arrested and taken to Wagga Police Station, where he was charged with 10 offences, including alleged drug, firearms and counterfeit money offences.
He was refused police bail and appeared before a bail court via video link on Friday, June 5.
The court was told no application for bail would be made at that time, and Guo was remanded in custody.
The matter is scheduled to return before Wagga Local Court on August 19.
