WAGGA’S mystery Lotto winner has been found, with a local woman coming forward to claim her multi-million-dollar windfall.

The lucky local was left stunned after discovering the ticket she purchased in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto Superdraw was worth a life-changing $2,222,222.23.

Her entry was one of just nine division one winning tickets nationally in draw 4583, held on Saturday, June 21.

The woman, who has asked to remain anonymous, had no idea of her good fortune until she checked her ticket on Tuesday.

“When I checked my ticket, it said I was the winner! I was speechless,” she said.

The loyal Saturday Lotto player said she’d only ever won $22 and $8 before — until now.

“The guy at the newsagency told me I was saving up to win the big one… and here it is!”

“I’ve always said, you don’t need a big ticket, you just need a ticket with all the numbers! ”

Despite her windfall, the woman said she doesn’t plan to retire just yet.

“I will keep working as I love what I do,” she said. “But I will buy a new car. That’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while.

“I’ll also set my family up for the future. It’s unbelievable!”

The golden ticket was purchased at Turvey Tops Newsagency inside the Turvey Tops Shopping Centre on Fernleigh Road — a first-time division one win for the store in more than a decade of ownership.

“It has been a big talking point with all our customers,” said co-owner Julie Ritter.

“We’re thrilled one of our lovely, loyal and regular customers has won the prize. It has the potential to be a life-changing win, so the whole team at Turvey Tops Newsagency are excited for them.

“It has been a long time coming, and we are very excited to finally have cracked the division one win and even more excited that it was in a Saturday Lotto Superdraw.”

The win is Wagga’s first major Lotto prize in almost four years — and the city’s biggest since New Year’s Day 2021, when a woman in her late 20s pocketed $9.8 million in Powerball with a ticket purchased at Lucky Crow Lotto in Wagga Marketplace.

That win marked the first of three major Lotto victories in Wagga during 2021, followed by a $2 million System 8 QuickPick win by a local man in August, and a $1 million division one prize claimed by a Wagga grandfather in October.

But none of those compare to the city’s biggest win of the decade — a $15 million Oz Lotto jackpot claimed by a Wagga family in April 2020, after more than a decade of playing together as a syndicate.

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4583 were 6, 24, 10, 42, 1 and 30, with supplementary numbers 18 and 16.

Nationally, there were nine division one winners — including two each in New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia, and one in Queensland.

So far in 2025, The Lott has crowned 213 division one winners, including 59 in New South Wales.

In 2024, Saturday Lotto created 149 millionaires, paying out more than $400 million in division one prizes across 316 winning entries.
