A MORNING bike ride has ended in tragedy in the Riverina, after a woman in her 60s crashed her bicycle on a steep street in Albury.

Emergency services were called to Forrest Hill Avenue about 10.30am on Friday, October 10, following reports a cyclist had fallen from her bike.

NSW Police said the 63-year-old woman was “riding down a steep hill” when she crashed.

Sadly, despite the best efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, she could not be revived and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist officers, with officers from the Murray River Police District now investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
