Boy accused of Wagga stabbing allegedly found hiding in roof

A 17-YEAR-OLD boy accused of stabbing a man at a Wagga home over the Easter long weekend was allegedly found hiding in the roof cavity of a house three days later.

The violent incident is alleged to have unfolded at a home in Tolland about 8.30pm on Friday, April 3.

Emergency services were called to Kenny Place, where they found a 20-year-old man suffering stab wounds to his arm and chest.

Police will allege the teen, who was known to the victim, was responsible for the attack.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the injured man at the scene before he was taken to Wagga Base Hospital in a serious condition.

A crime scene was established as officers launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.

Following inquiries, police attended a home in Tolland about 3am on Easter Monday, April 6, where they allegedly found the 17-year-old hiding in the roof cavity.

He was arrested and taken to Wagga Police Station, where he was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The boy was also charged with entering land with intent to commit an indictable offence, being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, and on two outstanding warrants.

He was refused bail and appeared before a Children’s Court on Tuesday, April 7.
