A JUNEE man previously jailed for child abuse offences is back in custody after being arrested during a police raid at a home in the town earlier this week.

Sean David Walsh, 36, was refused bail after appearing before Bail Division Court 5 on Wednesday, May 13, charged with multiple alleged offences, including causing a child to engage in an act of prostitution.

In a statement, a NSW Police spokesperson said the arrest followed an investigation led by officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District.

“On Wednesday 6 May 2026, officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District commenced an investigation into the activities of a man from Junee,” the spokesperson said.

“Following inquiries, officers from Riverina Police District executed a search warrant at an address in Junee and arrested a 36-year-old man.”

Detectives were seen removing items from the John Potts Drive home as police carried out the search on Tuesday.

Police said officers located and seized several electronic devices during the operation. A Ford dual-cab utility was also seized from the property.

Walsh, who has been subject to child-protection reporting obligations since 2014 and was later jailed for more than seven years after pleading guilty to 13 child abuse-related offences in 2019, was taken to Wagga Police Station where he was formally charged with causing a child aged between 14 and 18 to engage in an act of child prostitution.

The 36-year-old was also charged with three counts of contravening a prohibition order, using a carriage service to make child abuse material available, and using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend.

The allegations are yet to be tested before the courts.

Walsh was refused police bail and held in custody on Tuesday night before appearing before Bail Division Court 5 on Wednesday, May 13, where bail was formally refused.

He will remain in custody ahead of his appearance in Dubbo Local Court on July 23.
