Junee teen in running for prestigious Opera House showcase
JUNEE High School student Will Chisholm is one step closer to performing on one of Australia’s most iconic stages after being nominated to take part in a prestigious showcase celebrating the state’s most outstanding young musicians.
The Junee teen has been nominated for ENCORE, an annual showcase recognising exceptional achievements by Higher School Certificate (HSC) Music students from across NSW.
The nomination puts the talented young musician in contention for a coveted place in the 2027 showcase, which will be held at the world-famous Sydney Opera House on Monday, February 22.
Presented as a celebration of musical excellence, ENCORE brings together some of the state’s most talented emerging musicians to showcase outstanding HSC performances, compositions and musicology projects.
For Will, the nomination represents a significant achievement and recognition of his musical talent and dedication throughout his senior studies.
Junee High School praised Will’s achievement and his continued commitment to music, describing the nomination as well-deserved recognition for a student who has consistently impressed staff with his musical performances.
While the nomination itself is an outstanding accomplishment, Will must now await the outcome of the final selection process, which is expected to take place over the coming weeks.
If successful, he will have the opportunity to take his musical talents from Junee to the Sydney Opera House, performing alongside some of the finest young musicians NSW has to offer.
