A DISQUALIFIED driver previously charged with high-range drink driving has allegedly been caught back behind the wheel with a blood alcohol reading more than seven times the legal limit.

The 29-year-old man was stopped by officers attached to Riverina Traffic and Highway Patrol on Leavenworth Drive in Mount Austin about 1.50pm on Wednesday, July 29.

Police allege the driver returned a positive roadside breath test before checks revealed he was already disqualified from driving.

He was arrested and taken to Wagga Police Station, where a breath analysis allegedly returned a reading of 0.375, more than seven times the legal limit.

The man was issued with a Court Attendance Notice and charged with high-range drink driving (second offence) and driving while disqualified (second offence).

He is due to appear before Wagga Local Court on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
