A MAN has been charged over an alleged armed robbery in Wagga and a series of linked offences across the Riverina earlier this year.

Between 2.30am and 5am on Sunday, March 8, 2026, a number of vehicles were allegedly stolen from a unit complex in the Albury suburb of Glenroy.

Police will allege those stolen vehicles were then used in further offending later that day, including a fail-to-pay incident at a service station in Gumly Gumly, and an armed robbery at a licensed venue on Bolger Avenue in Mount Austin about 11pm.

The following morning, at about 2.45am on Monday, March 9, officers from the Riverina Police District located one of the stolen vehicles in Townsend Place, Mount Austin.

Police will allege the driver attempted to evade officers, before striking a nearby tree and fleeing the scene on foot.

The vehicle was seized, and officers allegedly located a sawn-off shotgun and a 3D-printed pistol inside.

After what police describe as extensive investigations, a 26-year-old man was arrested at Bathurst Police Station and has since been charged with a list of offences, including going armed with intent to commit an indictable offence and robbery in company.

He was also charged with possessing a shortened firearm without authority, stalking/intimidating with intent to cause fear or physical harm, and driving a conveyance taken without consent.

The man was refused bail and due to appear before Bail Division Local Court 4 on Thursday, June 11.
