Police probe discovery of man’s body on Riverina street

AN investigation is underway after a man’s body was discovered on a residential street in Temora early Sunday morning.

The grim find was made on Ashelford Street just after sunrise on Sunday, December 7.

Police say officers were responding to reports of a concern for welfare about 5.50am when they located a man deceased on the street.

A crime scene was immediately established and the street closed to traffic as officers commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

The deceased is yet to be formally identified, and the cause of death remains unknown.

Detectives from the Riverina Police District are leading the investigation and are working to determine whether the death is suspicious.

Road closures remained in place around the scene on Monday as police continued to examine the area.
