Abby’s 400th game caps memorable month for Junee Jaguars
ABBY Duncan has become the latest Junee Jaguars player to etch her name into the club’s history books after reaching the remarkable milestone of 400 games.
The achievement capped a memorable five weeks for the club, which has celebrated four major player milestones since the end of May.
Alongside Duncan’s 400th, Prue Duncan reached 300 games, Angie Barclay brought up 100 games and Karen Fish celebrated her 50th appearance.
Prue was the first to reach a milestone, taking the field for her 300th game on May 31.
A lifelong Jaguar, Prue has been a dedicated player and committee member throughout her years with the club.
She celebrated the occasion in a tough contest against Lake Albert, with the teams playing out a hard-fought 0-0 draw.

The celebrations continued when goalkeeper Angie Barclay brought up her 100th game for the Jaguars.
Travelling from Temora to represent the club, Barclay has become a key member of the side and a reliable presence between the posts.
Her milestone match ended on a high, with the Jaguars claiming an impressive 6-3 victory over Charles Sturt University.
Current club president Karen Fish was next to be recognised, playing her 50th game for the Jaguars on June 21 after returning to the sport following a 15-year break.
Despite wet and rainy conditions, a strong home crowd turned out to support the occasion as the Jaguars celebrated with a dominant 5-0 victory over South Wagga.

The month’s biggest milestone came on Sunday, June 28, when Abby Duncan reached the extraordinary achievement of 400 games.
A life member of the Jaguars and the club’s current junior president, Duncan has devoted decades to local soccer.
Alongside her outstanding playing career, she has served the club in a range of committee roles and has coached both junior and senior teams for more than a decade, helping nurture generations of local players.
Her milestone match was played away against Griffith, with the Jaguars producing another commanding performance to record a 5-0 win.

The celebrations continued off the field, with the Griffith players inviting the Junee side back to the Coro Club for a surprise pizza lunch, a gesture the Jaguars described as an unexpected but much-appreciated way to finish the day.
The run of milestones highlights the remarkable loyalty and commitment within the Junee Jaguars, with each of the four players making significant contributions to the club not only as athletes but also as volunteers, coaches, administrators and leaders.
For a community sporting club built on generations of volunteer support, a month featuring four major playing milestones is a fitting reminder of the people whose dedication continues to keep local hockey thriving.
If you’d like, I can also make this read more like a feature by weaving the four milestones together instead of treating them as separate match reports. I think that approach would be even stronger for publication.
