Man ejected from truck in Riverina crash
A MAN has been seriously injured after being ejected from the cabin of his truck on the Snowy Mountains Highway west of Tumut.
Emergency services were called to reports of a single-vehicle crash about five kilometres west of the township shortly after 2.30pm on Wednesday, June 24.
It is understood crews arrived to find a truck jack-knifed across the highway, with the driver lying on the roadway approximately 500m from the Batlow Road intersection.
The man, believed to be aged in his 50s, is reported to have been ejected from the truck’s cabin during the crash.
He suffered serious head injuries and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transported to Tumut Hospital, where he was met by the Toll Ambulance Rescue Helicopter shortly after 3.20pm.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution when travelling through the area as emergency services manage the scene.
