A DRIVER had a lucky escape from a single-vehicle crash in Junee on Tuesday morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the Olympic Highway, near Danswans Road, shortly before 10am, arriving to find a vehicle in a ditch on the roadside.

It’s understood the vehicle was travelling towards Junee when it crossed onto the wrong side of the road and left the single carriageway, narrowly missing a tree.

Fire and Rescue NSW crews were first to arrive, followed closely by local Rural Fire Service volunteers.

It’s understood firefighters assisted the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle for around 20 minutes before police and paramedics arrived.

Thankfully, the driver escaped relatively unscathed.

They were assessed by paramedics at the scene before being transported to Wagga Base Hospital in a stable condition as a precaution.
