Two dead, three injured in horror head-on crash
UPDATE 5.30PM | THREE people who survived a double-fatal crash on the Sturt Highway west of Narrandera on Monday afternoon are being transported to hospital.
Two people were killed when the cars they were driving collided head-on at Euroley, about 25 kilometres west of Narrandera, just before 4pm.
Three people were injured, including a 51-year-old man who suffered multiple fractures.
He was transported by road ambulance to Narrandera Airport, where he was met by the Toll Ambulance Rescue helicopter from Canberra shortly before 5.30pm.
A second rescue helicopter from Wollongong was turned around mid-air near Cootamundra after it was determined the two remaining patients could be transported directly to Wagga Base Hospital by road ambulance.
The highway remains closed in both directions, with diversions in place at the intersections of the Sturt Highway and Kidman Way, and the Sturt Highway and Innisvale Road at Darlington Point.

UPDATE 5:00 PM | TWO people have been killed and three others injured in a horrific head-on crash which has closed the Sturt Highway in the Riverina.
Emergency services were called to Euroley, about 25 kilometres west of Narrandera, shortly before 4pm on Monday, June 22, following reports of a serious two-vehicle crash.
In a statement, NSW Police confirmed the vehicles collided head-on, killing the drivers of both vehicles.
Three other people are being treated at the crash site by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
A major emergency response was launched, involving police, firefighters, rescue crews and ambulance personnel, while two rescue helicopters were tasked from Canberra and Wollongong.
It is understood one of the injured patients will be transported by road ambulance to Narrandera Airport, where they will be met by the first rescue helicopter from Canberra.
The remaining injured patients are expected to be transported to Wagga Base Hospital by road ambulance.
A second rescue helicopter from Wollongong will be available to assist and will meet the ambulances along the route if required.
A crime scene has been established and the Sturt Highway has been closed in both directions.
Diversions are in place at the intersections of the Sturt Highway and Kidman Way, and the Sturt Highway and Innisvale Road at Darlington Point.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area, with the highway expected to remain closed for an extended period while emergency services work at the scene and specialist police investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

FIRST at 4:20 PM | A HORRIFIC head-on crash has closed the Sturt Highway in the Riverina, with emergency services rushing to the scene amid reports of multiple critically injured patients.
The crash occurred near Euroley, west of Narrandera, shortly before 4pm on Monday, June 22.
It is understood up to four people have been injured, with at least two believed to be in a critical condition.
Police, paramedics, firefighters and rescue crews have been deployed to the scene, while two rescue helicopters have also been tasked to assist.
The first helicopter, from Canberra, was expected to arrive shortly after 5pm, with a second aircraft from Wollongong due on scene about 5.50pm.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area, with significant delays expected.
The Sturt Highway has been closed in both directions and diversions are in place.
The highway is expected to remain closed for several hours while emergency services work at the scene and specialist police conduct investigations.
